Redevelopment Project –
In our February 2018 Communicator we expressed hope that our project would be completed and we could move into our new space in late April or early May! Such was not the case. Like the Steve Jobs Space Center project down in Silicon Valley which took all the trees on the market so there was scarcity for other landscape projects, it was shortage of workers and cement for us. At the slightest hiccup, sub-contract workers are quick to move on to other construction jobs, and there are many to choose from right in our own back yard. But patience we must have as God has his own design and timing, the big picture that we don’t see.
Still there’s been much progress made since February in our Sanctuary and Parsonage/Multi-Use building. Pedestrians still stop and stare. Church visitors smile as they gauge when they might return to see the finished product. We hope you will be one of them.

Religious life continues –
We continue to hold our Sunday worship services in Mahany Hall at noon. We’ve been blessed with a corp of substitute preachers: Pastor Tauoa Head, Rev. Ken Iha, Rev. Gerry Brague, Rev. Wendy Summers, Rev. Dr. LaTaunya Bynum and Rev. Ruth Sandburg (who will be with us 6/24/18). Strange that we refer to them as “Pulpit Supply!”
Women’s Fellowship continue to meet on the second Tuesday of the month between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for bag lunch, scripture readings/stories and group sharing. It is bonding time!
Once we catch our breath, we will resume Bible study/Spiritual study and discussion. If you have specific thoughts or interest, we would love to hear from you. For now, please email to office@uccsc.org and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate person (see below re Intentional Interim Minister).
